Blacksmithing
I based this guide on the post made by Seoan Silversouls which helped me to get my masters in blacksmithing, it is very detailed and I only made some slight changes to the info.
This is the cheapest way to become a master at smithing.
Get yourself some Charisma gear to wear while purchasing and
selling. Remember to buy a stack hit shift while purchasing, and to pick up only
one hit the ctrl key.
Start with Metal bits in North Freeport next to the bards guild. This is the
best place for you to buy the ore. Be sure to stock up on water in west freeport
at Brownloe Bakery across from the theater of the tranquil, get at least 100 to
start (you can also purchase water in North Freeport in the blue building right
next to the bank).
The recipes for metal bits are as follows:
The ore is the stackable ones, buy as many as you can possibly hold, for only
one person can use a forge at a time.
1 small piece of ore + 1 small piece of ore + 1 water flask = 1 metal bit
Do this until it becomes trivial at skill level 21 and then keep them
coming for you need many of these before proceeding to the next step.
Next step head over to East Freeport, picking up more water on the way
Go to Traders holiday and stock up on Scaler molds.
There is a forge right next to Armor by Ikthar, remember this is the one most
frequently used by human smithers making banded so go to it well prepared.
The recipe for scalers is as follows:
1 metal bit + 1 water flask + 1 scaler mold = scalers
this should take you up to skill level 41.
Next step is lanterns
You may have to run back to North Freeport to replenish your supplies in Metal
Bits, you can buy bottles at several locations in freeport, check at traders
holiday they usually have them.
The recipe is:
1 metal bit + 1 water flask + 1 lantern mold + 1 bottle = lantern
This will take you all the way to skill level 68 and yields a nice return
to merchants and players alike.
Your next step should be skewers:
1 metal bit + 1 water flask + 1 skewer mold = skewers
These are used for baking so you should be able to sell to players and get a
nice return on your investment, or take up baking as well. However you always
have the option of selling to merchants and regaining most of the money you have
spent. Skewers will take your skill level all the way to skill level 115.
You are now a master!
From here you can move on to pots
1 metal bit + 1 water flask + 1 pot mold + 1 standing legs mold = 1 pot
Pots too are used in baking and this should take you to skill level 122
One that i didnt mention above is Studs, if you will be tailioring at the same
time you can make these while you are making scalers, they become trivial at skill
level 25
the recipe is:
1 metal bit + 1 metal bit + 1 metal bit + file + water flask = 2 studs
the file you can make and that recipe is:
1 metal bit + 1 water flask + 1 file mold = 1 file
this trivalizes at skill level 5
